Repeat Pattern has put out a real trip-hop gem with Bruce Lee Poster.
The beat moves along in a jittery, head-bob inducing way comparable with Bibio‘s Fire Ant. The flute sample and heavy sidechain compression work together with the warm lo-fi bass and vocal stabs to make Bruce Lee Poster a trip-hop track you’ll find yourself coming back to time and time again. It’s a pity it’s only 1:50 long 😦

Cabin Fever is an acid jazz track with a steady latin-esque beat that could have you dancing, or alternatively sitting back sipping cocktails.
The choice is yours… because Cabin Fever doesn’t mind either way.

So Warp Records are looking to have quite a big release on their hands with Rustie‘s Glass Swords coming out on the 10th.
Artists Skream, Joker, Bibio and many more have already given it praise, and as Rustie‘s twitter following sky-rocketing to over 5,000 about 18 hours ago, you can watch the hype growing.
Ultra Thizz was given a special limited edition 12-inch vinyl release ahead of the album, with another track Dreamzz which is only available on the vinyl.
Here’s Ultra Thizz for your regular radio-fuckery:
Now that Glass Swords is out you can find it here:
Doctor Rockit is hailed a pioneer in using ‘organic’ (read: not electronic) sounds in predominately electronic music. I picked up his album Indoor Fireworks by chance and I must admit, it is a challenging listen. However the last track of the album deserves to be played during the last call of every bar, imagine you and your mates arm in arm, swishing your pints around in drunken glory.
A perfect finish to my week-long daily posting marathon – I’ll see you Monday 😀

Pretty Lights is easily one of my favourite artists of recent times, even though he’s been around for quite awhile, I discovered his music later than I would have liked to.
Another artist who I wish I could simply post the entire discography of, Pretty Light‘s production quality and sound is something even the creme de la creme of electronic artists could be envious of. I’m very excited to see him live in December. Not only is his music brilliant, but he is generous to give it away for free. I insist you visit the website:

And of-course, a FTR download:

Robo Booty fronts off the BRILLIANT slurp and giggle album from Opiuo. A really funky booming start to one of the funkiest, sexiest most satisfying albums I have listened to in awhile.
I was especially pleased to learn that Opiuo hails from my home city of Melbourne, Australia. His debut album Slurp and Giggle is an amazing blend of glitch, hip hop and straight up pure funky beats. I highly recommend you get your hands on his album- and anything else he releases.

Honey in the Heart begins as a pretty fluttering of synths and progresses into a happy funky electronica piece.
The whole album is a gem, give this song a try though, you won’t regret it:

Bee Ampersand makes a few edits to Dorian Concept’s version of this Clifford Gilberto piece. What a complicated string of artists…

Shlohmo is a legend, taking the art of a ‘dubstep drop’ to a whole new level. It’s sophisticated, beyond the cliche “GET THE FUCK OUTTA HEREEE WUB WUB WUB WOBBBBB WOBBBB” style filth that makes your body contort and bang around like something out of the exorcist on the dance-floor, Spoons is dubstep for your brain, allow the various lobes to bob around to the beat while your cerebellum chills with the groove. There’s something almost acidic about it, like an acid-meets-hip-hop hybrid, the sounds coming out of the Wu Tang Clan’s mouths if Aphex Twin and Skream were spit-roasting them rhythmically one at a time.
Before this gets any more sexually charged and disturbing, I think you should give Spoons a listen…

Fun lyrics, sexy vocals, great song.

Today we have something special from headline name Deadmau5.
Known predominately for his banging tech-house, Deadmau5 has been releasing more diverse material under the alias ‘fuckmylife’ on Soundcloud for quite some time.
This progressive gem grabbed about 58,275 plays in about 8 hours and counting.

A good tune for the Ides of March no?
I’m an addict to the stuff Ninja Tune releases on their label. This has been heavily played to my ears. There’s a remix of it in the new years mixtape you can find a few posts back.

The last of the 4 Aphex Twin tracks displays his acid brilliance in all it’s glory, with Cock-Ver 10.
Acid drums, acid basslines, excitement. I would list it under brilliance, but it’s not quite as accessible to virgin ears. I know it took me awhile to adjust to these sounds, but the experience is rewarding. Every listen is different. Give it a chance and I promise you’ll thank me later. And when you’re done, go back and listen to Avril 14th (you’ll find it a few posts on this blog back) immediately after, it tops it all off perfectly.

Nosaj Thing‘s album Drift is AMAZING.
Simple as that. go out and get it.
1685/Bach is an electronic, glitchy mesh of beats, synths and other noises.
And here’s a bonus video of a live set he did for KEXP.
