Do you have Sleepy Eyes?

‘Well within our very brains are submerged global tides, lunar moods from which no window however air tight can insulate us. Among us all the rhythms of the earth are closely linked to the rhythms of the brain. We humans may seem different… we are often unaware that we too have inherited these cycles… we have learned to time ourselves by clocks of our own making and to forget the beat of the earth….’

Back on that jazzy boom bap tip today. Sadly, I can’t resist the urge to make the following comment even though it’s lazy as fuck writing: “I’m really vibin on Vibin.” There. It happened. Sorry everyone. Check out Jay Reed for more.

deedontcare is a phantom. I don’t know where he lives or what his name is, but I do know that he’s one fucking dope beatmaker. The above song (how it is a “rough copy” I will never understand) should be enough proof. Check out his SoundCloud here. Go from the top. It’s all quality.

Matt Coops – Loathing by imogenenebyl

Matt Coops describes his music as a “gritty analog-y boom-bap revival of 90’s Hip-Hop”. With that flavour of rap instrumentals in mind, Matt Coops loops his samples and shifts the pitch of the heavy beats throughout loathing (a title referring to the mad flick ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’). The track holds a cool rawness to it that we sometimes miss out on in polished compositions.
