This bouncy number is a fun little jam from the mind of Joe Mousepad. The full EP is dropping soon courtesy of Rootnote Collective.

So very tempted to make this blog all about the dope shit coming out of Melbourne, there’d be more than enough to post about.
Ex-Bristol turned Melbourne local Titus 12 had his Karnak EP unleashed by Uncomfortable Beats just before our long weekend. Filled with both familiar sounds and what appear to be some quirky field recordings, the production behind Karnak is a tight mix of dub and future beat.

It’s happening, I’m giving Sorrow the BRILLIANT tag of BRILLIANCE here on Fuck the Radio for his exquisitely amazing 1988. The dark, melancholic sounds and smooth, flowing nature of the track come together to create an emotionally stimulating peice of electronic music. Everything hits the nail on the head perfectly here, from the percussive sounds to the ambient swirls of noise that drift on overhead. Not many tracks get tagged brilliant, but this one has thoroughly earned it.

I used to have crazy amounts of fun playing as Yoshimitsu in Tekken because he had this one move where he’d stab himself. I was such a sadistic little shit back in my childhood I’d play the game as him just to watch Yoshimitsu stab himself in the gut over and over for my own enjoyment.
Anyway, that’s completley irrelevant when discussing this particular Yoshimitsu collective. Blaster Master displays future-beat at it’s finest; a perfect blend of Fly-Lo style syncopation and engaging sounds. Marisa Tomei shows a subtle hint of down-tempo romanticism and tranquil repose. I’m posting Kaligraph E‘s harder remix of Bugz from a few months back though. It’s a stand out.

Robot Koch and Kuhn‘s collaboration for the upcoming Cosmic Waves release on Project: Mooncirlce is deep and dank.
The Berlin-based Robot Koch is dropping his dual 10″ release on August 31st. You can nab this track off of the record here:

Fucking aye. Lindsay Lowend dropped this monster trap beat track two days ago and it’s been blowing the shit out of my sub-woofer.
I’ve been listening to this 808-riddled heavy bass beat music for quite some time before I knew that we were calling it ‘trap’- I’m not quite sure how I feel about the name- but as I said in the last post, I’m not here to needle genres. And who gives a shit anyway, “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet” after all. The facts are; its accessibility as a crossover for fans of electrionca, trip-hop, hip-hop and dubstep really puts trap in a position to be taking off in a BIG way. After seeing EDM heavyweight Diplo embracing it in what is possibly one of my favourite tracks of the year, I’m legitimately excited to see if it will creep into mainstream music as dubstep did, and perhaps inject some life into the ubiquitous sorry excuse for ‘hip-hop’ that we hear on the radio these days.

Some VERY deep sounds from Melbourne-based Wabz, it seems the bass is bottomless- extending to unfathomably distant depths. The percussive sounds are organic and satisfyingly crisp sounding. There’s some amazing atmospheric work going on here, worth checking out.

Desmond Cheese‘s beats are dope. Saw the Signs Pt. 2 is an instrumental cut off of a release he did with Mr Bill about a year ago, and it’s got all of the best ingredients: jazz, bass and essence of sex.
You could do just about anything with this music playing and it’d instantly give it a totally new groovy vibe. Seriously, you could be eating a taco or something, and some hottie could walk past you and think nothing of it. But if you were eating a taco with this music on the hottie would be dtf.
Enjoy 🙂

yahnLOOKEpicard‘s name is as bizarre as the slimey bass-sound used in Bit Breaths. The only difference is that while I stress I’ve gotten the name wrong, we can all rest assured that the bass is just right.
Electronica when styled up in just the right way can sound almost ‘organic’, and Bit Breaths is as teeming with life as the swampy marsh I picture when I listen to it (yes it’s one of those posts where I say weird shit that makes no sense).
At the end of the day, yahnLOOKEpicard is absolutely on-point in crafting neat glitch-hop beats, and Bit Breaths is a perfect example of his aptitude.
