Kappah is an Italian producer who put out a short 4-track release with Fresh Yo! label last month. He also appeared on the Beatfonics Crew mixtape I recently posted about.  This new track Zombie Jesus Beat hits rough, check it.

It’s been a year since Spazzkid released Desire. The album plays like Bibio soaked in chillwave, and while it’s a little different to what we normally post around here, its always good to treat your ears to some pop-ish music once and awhile.

I had been sleeping on this lush release from youngteam, released a month ago, Headspace sounds like the result of throwing bunch of great sounding synths, vocal snippets, percussive sounds and guitar into some sort of big musical cyclotron (if only it was that easy). Also it’s in 432hz tuning- (read this if you want to know more about that).

Head over to youngteam‘s soundcloud for more.

Su Na has gone and done a remix of Mincha‘s Lovin’. The track has already enjoyed some popularity thanks to SeventhhWonder‘s remix from earlier this month.

So very tempted to make this blog all about the dope shit coming out of Melbourne, there’d be more than enough to post about.

Ex-Bristol turned Melbourne local Titus 12 had his Karnak EP unleashed by Uncomfortable Beats just before our long weekend. Filled with both familiar sounds and what appear to be some quirky field recordings, the production behind Karnak is a tight mix of dub and future beat.

FLOW – Palm Tr33 by Chris

Fuck the Radio Collective picked up Melbourne’s  FLOW around 9 months ago after peeping an amazing live set. His first album has finally hit the Internet for your listening pleasure. If described in one word? I’d use something like ‘trippy’. Melbourne is surely delivering on the electronic beat goodness lately.

Colourwaves – World Warp by Chris

Colourwaves has released some new work and it’s brought us out of hiding. World Warp contains a poignant commentary on consumer culture and human’s creative spirituality.

Future-beat junkies will dig this new release from Fresh Yo! label’s HLMSNRA.

Outlier Recordings has a catalogue filled with goodness. Jimmy Pé’s Fairy Tale EP is the label’s 55th release and includes two remastered versions of older tracks Mexico and Don Barzini (both really dope in their own right) with the fantastic new Fairy Tale remixed by Anthony Drawn, Je$u$, Mute Speaker and oddlogic. Do not ignore this release; it’s a great find.

Flow – A Soul’s Journey by Chris

Fuck the Radio Collective experimental beatsmith Flow has teamed up with our visual artist friend Chronic Sans from the amazing Melbourne-based Spacewalk collective to put together a clip for the wonky track A Soul’s Journey.

You can catch both of them in action, as well as a huge line-up of other great locals for Spacewalk’s Spring Break Party free across 2 venues.Image

Duke Westlake – Re. Turn by Chris

Duke Westlake’s Re. Turn is an impressive 30 tracks large. Ranging from chillout to electronica to straight up hip-hop, this album contains an impressive variety of different sounds and samples, worth hitting play and kicking back to.

Released by the soulful hip-hop centred Mello Music Group (Oddisee, Apollo Brown), the whole thing only costs an easy $7.50 to be yours to keep, or just stream it on Bandcamp above.

Leaks De Landa EP Launch by Chris

At age 19, Thomas Guida aka. Leaks is the youngest member of the Fuck the Radio Collective. His De Landa EP (out on the free digital label Absent Fever) was put out late May, and is holding up to be one of my favourite releases of the year (check out the brilliant I’m Glad You’re Still Here). He’s finally got a release party together with supports from Audego, Surf Dad and fellow brilliant Fuck the Radio artists Alta.

If you are in Melbourne on the 19th, you can head down to Ding Dong lounge, where Guida will be giving away 100 limited physical copies of the EP for free, and also playing for you live. As you can imagine, I have seen him live before and just a hint: it’s a good gig to bring a special guy/girl friend along to for holding hands and looking into each-other’s eyes n shit.

OR just go with your 100% nothing suss platonic mates and chill out to some soothing beats either way.

Willow Beats – Alchemy EP by Chris

Fuck the Radio Collective home boys Willow Beats have been super busy, returning from a sold-out national tour to support the release of their second EP (below).

I had a quick exchange with Narayana earlier,

There are some tracks on the EP that I started a year ago, some that came together in the last few weeks!
We tried much more experimenting with this EP. There are a-lot more recorded samples and things like the water drops in Elemental (recorded in my bath tub). A-lot more attention was paid to the individual sounds as well. I wanted every small aspect to be as good as I could make it.
The tour was sold out which was incredible! It was amazing to see the amount of support we have! You don’t really realise from Facebook etc but when you see support in numbers its incredible.
